AI roleplay · real 5e-compatible engine

Every roll is real. Every world remembers.

Most AI roleplay is a chatbot doing an impression of a game. Worldbound runs an actual 5e-compatible rules engine underneath — your character sheet, the dice, combat, levelling. The AI narrates what happens. It doesn't get to decide you won.

The AI narrates. The engine decides.

When you swing a sword, a server rolls a d20, compares it to real armour class, and subtracts real damage from a real hit point pool. Here is an unedited round from the engine — a level-3 fighter, two goblins:

Round 1 (initiative order):
Rilla attacks Goblin 1 with Longsword: d20 12 +4 = 16 vs Goblin 1 AC 15 — HIT! 4 damage. Goblin 1: 3/7 HP.
Goblin 1 (Scimitar) attacks Rilla: 22 vs AC 16 — HIT! 6 damage. Rilla: 22/28 HP.
Goblin 2 (Scimitar) attacks Rilla: 15 vs AC 16 — miss.

Real output from the combat engine, not a mock-up.

  • The dice are the server's Attack rolls, saves, criticals and death saves are rolled where the model can't reach them — so you can genuinely lose a fight.
  • Monsters fight by their stat block A dragon takes its bite and two claws. A fire elemental shrugs off Fireball. A skeleton takes double from a mace. That's the bestiary, not the vibe.
  • Your sheet is the truth Hit points, spell slots, conditions, inventory, XP and levelling are state the engine owns. The narration has to match it.

What you actually get

d20

A real character

Build a 5e character properly — twelve classes, races, backgrounds, feats, spells — and level them 1 to 20 with the engine granting what it should.

A world that remembers

Lorebooks activate on what's happening now, and long campaigns fold into a chronicle, so what you did fifty turns ago still counts.

Build and publish

Write your own world, attach lorebooks, and publish it for other players — with ratings, reviews and a creator page of your own.

Roll for initiative.

Free to start — twenty turns to try it, then a few free every day. Bring your own API key and play as much as you like.
